It doesn't usually rain in San Diego...one of the reasons I love living here! I don't like rain...but today it's raining. I know rain is good and necessary, but I don't like it. I like sunshine. Blue skies. No jacket and no umbrella slowing me down. I like to see the road ahead of me without annoying window wipers.
I like that in ministry, too. I like it when things go well. No "people issues". No cumbersome issues to carry around and deal with. I like to be able to clearly see the end of the road in whatever I'm doing. Unfortunately, like the rain outside today, ministry isn't always like that.
Lately there's been a lot of "rain" in my ministry (hence the very few blog posts, of late). People issues. Program challenges. Distractions. And doesn't it seem like "when it rains, it pours"? We even had a 3 year old pull our fire alarm last week at the end of service (when parents are picking up kids, of course!).
So how do you deal with "rain" in your ministry? Stay tuned for some answers of how I deal with it.
