Radical Obedience

One of my favorite quotes comes from a song by Steve Camp - OK, that gives away my age a little bit...it's been awhile since Steve was really big in the Christian music world.  Anyway, it goes like this:

There's safety in complacency, but God is calling us out of our comfort zone into a life of complete surrender to the cross.  To live dangerously is not to live recklessly, but righteously, and it is because of God's radical grace for us that we can risk living a life of radical obedience for Him.

It's a little bit of an old school kind of quote, but has a lot of meaning.  This year, my little personal motto is: Pursue God; Connect with People (more on that later), and in order to do that effectively, I have to allow God's radical grace for me to come through in a life of radical obedience.  Don't know exactly what that is going to lead to this year...but it sounds exciting.  And a good reminder that it's not about me, or my ministry, or whatever opportunities come my way...it's about my relationship and pursuit of God.
